The Kind Hearts for Kate fundraiser began as an outlet to help with the grief of losing Kate. It started as a weekend project of friends gathered in a garage, painting simple messages of hope and kindness on wooden hearts that could be displayed around Kate's town of West Newbury, Massachusetts. It came as no surprise that the demand for hearts would extend beyond that initial run. Heart pop up shops appeared around New England, with requests for hearts to be shipped around the country. The number of hearts displayed at this point probably extends into the thousands with more requests coming in. The words strength, hope, kindness, love and unity, along with smile and heal, sum up Kate's wishes of what she would have liked to see for our country at this pivotal time. The messages on the hearts exemplify Kate's positive outlook and contagious energy that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Wear your best luau attire and come participate in walking and lawn games at a wonderful event! Raffle basket tickets, KSF t-shirts, and Kona Ice will be sold at the event. Bring your friends and family for a fun afternoon to support a wonderful organization!
A lot of that money came from a raffle of 30-ish gift baskets made by lots of different people. Let them know what you want to do theme-wise by next Tuesday so we avoid duplicate ideas.
